Recent Pension Debates and World-wide Pension Trends

要旨Abstract

　1994年に発表された世界銀行の報告者（Averting the Old Age Crisis）は、活発な年金論争を呼びおこした。本稿では、まず初めに、その論争における主要なポイントを整理し、現時点における到達点を明らかにする。当初、意見が対立しているようにみえたいくつかの論点において共通の理解が現在、進みつつある。ついで、最近における世界各国の年金改革の動きを紹介する。以上の２つの考察を踏まえ、最後に、日本における今後の課題を議論する。

　The 1994 World Bank report on Averting the Old Age Crisis induced lively debates among pension experts. In this paper, firstly I will clarify the main issues of the pension debates, and explain the current achievements. On several controversial issues, some convergence is now reached. Secondly, I will present the recent pension reforms from around the world. Finally, I will discuss the future pension tasks facing Japan.
